GETTING TO KNOW THE FOLKS IN SPRINGFIELD

A LITTLE ABOUT AJ

I grew up around the Ozarks. Born in Mountain Home, Arkansas and grew up in Miami, Oklahoma. That must be why Springfield is so easy for me to call home. I got into radio when I was 17 and have been in it ever since. Being a big fan of music and NOT blessed with the ability to sing....well in tune at least, is what made me look into radio.  It has taken me all over the place in order from Joplin, MO to Springfield, MO to Dallas, TX to Salt Lake City, UT to Portland, OR and now back to Springfield. In 2004 I got married to my sweet wife Kristy. We met over the internet, no joke! I'm telling you that thing called the internet is going to be HUGE someday....... February of 07 we added a new member to the family when Kristy gave birth to our son Gavin and most recently the birth of our second son Cohen in July of 09. I love anything BBQ and I'm a St. Louis Cardinals fanatic. That's a look into my life and if you want to know more make sure you join me weekday mornings 6am to 10am.

CROOK EATS THE NOTE
Two cops cuffed a bank robbery suspect to search him, and emptied his pockets onto the hood of their cruiser . . . including the note he showed the bank teller during the robbery.  So while the cops weren't looking, he grabbed it with his teeth and ate it.

DARIUS RUCKER SAYS COUNTRY ARTISTS WILL PERFORM ON A FRIEND'S RECORD FOR FREE . . . BUT POP ARTISTS CHARGE $30,000
I've heard plenty of artists talk about how tight the country music community is . . . but this story from DARIUS RUCKER totally drives it home.  Darius tells AOL.com what happened while he was working on his first country album . . .
--Quote, "My producer and I, who also produces BRAD PAISLEY, finished writing 'All I Want', and the first thing I said was, 'If you're willing, I'd love for Brad to play on it . . . sounds like a song that he would kill on and do great.
--"And we just asked him and he said, 'Yeah, soon as I get in town I'll be there.'  And as soon as he got in town, he came down and played."
--But that's not even the coolest part.  Darius says Brad did NOT charge a dime for his services . . . because country artists don't do that sort of thing.  But that's the exception, quote, "(Pop) labels want to charge you $30,000 to come down and play on your record."

MILEY CYRUS TOUR BUS IN DEADLY CRASH
According to officials, Miley was on a bus that was part of a 4-vehicle caravan which included the bus that crashed.
We're told Miley's bus was not involved in the crash...
Officials also confirmed the driver of the bus was the only fatality -- one other person was transported to a local hospital due to injury.
Officials are investigating whether the driver died before the crash or after -- which could explain why the bus drifted off the road.
Officials also tell us the roads were really wet from overnight rain.
A rep from Dinwiddie Fire and EMS tells us the bus had been carrying Miley's concert production crew -- there were 14 passengers on-board.
Miley's manager tell us, "It was one of our tour buses, but not Miley's. It was one of our buses that transported our lighting crew."
Miley Cyrus' tour bus driver was reportedly killed last night after a bus, believed to be the one she usually travels in, flipped over on a highway in Virginia.

HAMSTER HOTEL

Leave it to the French to hatch an idea like this. A hotel in France is giving guests the opportunity to live like hamsters for a night. For about 150 dollars, you can dress up like hamsters, run in a hamster wheel and eat hamster food. We have no idea what the bathroom situation is, but we know what real hamsters do.
